”One time I dreamed I was a bee, and I had sex with my mom!” “I look like Courtney Cox!” Okay, so maybe his character on MTV’s 2ge+her wasn’t known for saying overly intelligent things, but his character was a good person at heart, and very few of us got the opportunity to know the person that acted as Jason “QT” McKnight, Michael Cuccione. Like did you know he was the middle child? Or that for his 2ge+her audition he sang a song he wrote, and it ended up on the CD? Or he was a two time cancer survivor? Or he wrote a book with his grandma? Or that he was blessed by Pope John Paul? It's all true. Michael James Cuccione was born to Gloria and Domenic Cuccione, in British Columbia, Canada, on January 5, 1985. He was the middle sibling, with an older sister Sophia (currently 18) and soon to follow after him was Steven (currently 12). When he was just nine years old in July 1944, Michael was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, a form of cancer that starts in the lymph nodes. Hodgkin's Disease in children, before the age of ten is in higher occurence in boys. He underwent six months of chemotherapy and lost all his hair. Six months later, the cancer came out of remission and had metastasized to his lungs. He underwent massive, strong doses of chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and telve radiation treatments centered around his lungs and heart. He is best known for his acting as Jason "QT" McKnight, the cute one, in the MTV boyband 2ge+her. He sang an original song for his audition/screen test, and made the cut. And then the song was sung by the band on their CD. He died on January 13, 2001 of natural causes, not linked with his previous battles with cancer. "His lungs just gave out," cites his uncle, also named Michael Cuccione. He had been put in the hospital for pneumonia, and his lungs failed. Although there is no doubt where he went after his death (he was a Roman Catholic, and was blessed by Pope John Paul), he will no doubt be missed here on earth. "I think the worst part is knowing that he's just not going to walk through the door," said band mate Evan Farmer (Jerry, "The Heartthrob") recently on MTV. He will be remembered as a vibrant young man with a remarkable zest for life. Rest in peace Michael.
Liz's Thoughts and Comments I said a prayer that night for the family. And all else who suffered the loss of this wonderful person.
