Gundam Wing Poetry
I debated and debated whether or not to add this to my site, and I finally decided that it would be a good thing. This is my poetry that was inspired by Gundam Wing. ^_^ I would love to host yours as well, so send it here if you want me to! ^_^
Soldier's Burden
copyright 2001 Kelly Hagedorn
Sunset shadows lengthen,
stretch for eternity,
touch upon a figure
bent in solitary grief.
Red to remind him
of all the sins of past.
The frozen figure travels
down guilty well-worn paths.
Twilight glows in shades of blue;
specters visit the edges of sight.
Whispers from the past
entreat the figure’s mercy.
Memories who die once more
are silently battered away.
His mask crumbles;
glittering drops fall like stars.
Night cloaks the world;
diamonds glitter on black velvet.
Cold white light
restores the mask,
armors the figure’s soul,
returns to him the will to fight.
Tomorrow he will gain
more ghosts to haunt his nights. |
Mask My Heart
copyright 2001 Kelly Hagedorn
He has a hand around my heart.
He teases, squeezes, and it bleeds.
I hold it in, behind the mask,
the pain he causes when he laughs
He doesn’t know I hurt inside.
A stoic mask is all he sees.
A taunt, a prank to pull it off,
while I cling to it desperately
A smile, a grin, a wink
and then he’s gone again.
Another hole inside my heart.
Another wound to hide away.
If I lose the mask I wear,
standing naked to the world,
will he see the scars I hold?
Will he laugh or will he care?
I cannot let him drop my mask,
with wounds too fragile yet to heal.
Alone, I hide my aching heart,
pretending it’s as strong as steel. |
Fate I
copyright 2000 Kelly Hagedorn
Sapphires meet emeralds
across a crowded street.
The moment freezes –
locked in my memory.
Days turn to weeks,
green eyes and pale skin
haunt me in my sleep,
steal my daytime thoughts.
Empty hallways pass,
another day gone by.
Turning a corner,
a figure meets mine forcefully.
Papers scatter to the floor.
As I climb to my feet,
I catch a glimpse of jade;
a sudden hope flares.
You smile gently at me,
a small curve of your lips,
glorious emerald eyes shine.
“I thought I’d never find you.” |
Fate II
copyright 2000 Kelly Hagedorn
Sapphires meet emeralds
across a crowded street.
A moment freezes –
locked in my memory.
My life continues on,
but never again the same.
Dreaming, watching, waiting,
for a trace of azure eyes.
A mission, infiltration,
comes to me by chance.
Hopelessly I watch,
though you won’t be there.
A moment of fate,
a crash in the hallway,
a glimpse of sapphire.
Surely it can’t be...
Hoping against hope,
I reach for your hand,
Falling into your eyes.
“I thought I’d never find you.” |
Indigo Awakening
copyright 2000 Kelly Hagedorn
You stir beside me,
mumbling softly in your sleep,
silken skin rustling silken sheets.
I quietly watch you awaken,
stretching your arms till they contact me.
Your amethyst eyes fly open, searching for mine.
Our eyes meet and I drown,
my hand reaches out to caress your cheek,
a lifeline in a flood of emotion.
You smile your bright smile,
and turn your face to kiss my palm,
then again lift your eyes to meet my wondering gaze.
I catch your scent
as chestnut strands slide down my arm,
a silken waterfall pooling around us.
My fingers comb its length,
you look at me with loving eyes,
and teasingly touch your finger to my lips.
You lean in closely
and replace your finger with a kiss,
while I can do nothing but feel your nearness.
Your soft lips leave mine,
inches separate our eyes,
And once again, I drown in violet pools. |
Dreaming
copyright 2000 Kelly Hagedorn
I float in warm darkness, alone, but not lonely,
for dreams of you keep me company.
Memories of your hands, your touch,
the warmth of your breath,
the sound of your voice
murmuring sweet nothings in my ear.
I awake from a dream,
a dream of summer days,
pounding heart beats,
and ringing laughter.
I awake from a dream
to gaze into eyes like sapphires,
sparkling in the darkness
with an inner light of love.
I awake from a dream,
into another dream.
A look, a caress, a kiss,
and a fall into cobalt wonder.
I emerge from this world of thought,
and feel you beside me, solid and real.
I have no need for memories now,
I have your hands to hold me,
your glorious sapphire eyes to drown in,
and you to whisper, “Ai shiteru.” |

Author's Comments
Soldiers Burden was written from Heero's POV, but different people have seen different pilots in it. I guess it's all a matter of interpretation. ^_^
Mask My Heart is also from Heero's POV. I wrote this at 2am... I don't really think of this as how their relationship is, but I was having a bad week...
Fates I and II were written as a gift to Little Trowa-san for Christmas 2000. ^_^ They are about Mirialdo and Trowa as a couple. I think I may revise them a bit so they sound better. Fate I is Miri's POV, and Fate II is Trowa's POV.
Indigo Awakening and Dreaming were also written as companion poems. 'Indigo' is from Heero's POV, and 'Dreaming' is from Duo's POV. I love these two. They were meant to be warm and fuzzy poems, leaving you content after you read them. I would like to rename Dreaming. It didn't have a title, but when I posted it, I had to name it something. Dreaming sounds too much like the last one...
Dream was a two minute poem that I wrote directly after Mask My Heart. I had a few visual images left over from the initial stages of work, and I wanted to use them. And this is the way I dream, in flashes of imagery or sensory input. I don't know if I like this one or not... |
Dying Roses
copyright 2001
By: Scheherazade
You brought me roses yesterday morn',
picked from the vine outside your room;
you always took care to break off every pricking thorn,
and to choose the one with the most precious bloom.
And in the vase on my nightstand,
the dark red rose still lives.
It's surviving you in defiance,
and awakening sorrow in the warmth it gives.
The hand that plucked it from its life
will never touch another rose.
and your absence gives me so much strife--
far beyond what the mere flower knows.
If I had known it on that yesterday,
that you knew that it would be our last,
I could have somehow made you stay,
and held you close and fast.
You sacrificed the greatest treasure,
thinking it worth dirt or less.
In denial that, beyond any measure,
it was the gift most priceless.
And now your rose has faded--
and dies, drooping in its cup.
I can't believe that this is what you were fated,
or that your time was up.

A Mysterious Boy
copyright 2004
By: Megan Greenberg
Hair the color of bark
Eyes as deep as the raging sea
Skin too soft to touch
Brave, persistent, and strong
The sign of a young warrior
Emotions too deep to surface but eventually come to show their faces
Delicate but strong
Arrogant but true
Promises are kept but smiles are held back
But brought to the surface from love deep down
Honest and trustworthy
This warrior will one day unfurl his beautiful wings
Wings to fly high over us to protect his emotion
Emotion to love forever and to fight for his beliefs
Sturdy but unstable at times
Reckless but wise, Heero is a true warrior
Oh pilot of the feathered gundam
Hear me and decsend
Decsend oh warrior of war from darkness to the light
To the light you soul belongs
