- What
is MotorVac Carbon-clean service ?
- MotorVac carbon-clean
is a process that tests the operation of and cleans your entire
fuel system (fuel
injectors, air induction, valves and combustion chambers).
-
-
-
- How it
works:
- Detergent
and fuel are mixed in the MotorVac machine pictured above. The
hoses from the MotorVac machine are connected to the engine's
fuel system in such a way that allows the MotorVac to become
the temporary fuel source. Now the MotorVac machine filled with
a mixture of detergent and fuel is the engine's fuel source.
-
- The three step cleaning procedure:
-
- The first step in the procedure Scrubbing the fuel
rail and injector filters. The picture on the right is a typical
electronically activated fuel injector. This first step scrubs
away dirt particles that accumulate in the tiny filters inside
the tops of the injectors. This step is done with the engine
off. The detergent mixture is circulated and filtered for a period
of 15 minutes.
-
- The second step
- While the the MotorVac machine is scrubbing the fuel rail
and injectors, an aerosol can is filled with detergent and pressurized
with shop air. The detergent is then sprayed throughout the intake
plenum. This cleans the throttle plates, idle air by-pass, engine
valves, pistons, and rings.
|
|
- The third
step
- After the
fuel rail and intake plenum cleaning, the engine is started and
timed to run for a period of 30 minutes. Now the detergent is
circulating through the fuel injectors and scrubbing the needle
valves. At the same time the intake valves and combustion chambers
are being de-carbonized.
