Gregory Everett Proops was born on October 3rd, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona. At the age of 3, Greg and his family moved to Lancaster, California. Later, in 1966, they moved again to the San Francisco Bay area. Greg was raised mostly in San Carlos, California. Greg's first job was a newspaper boy.

Greg attended San Mateo Junior College and San Francisco University. There he studied acting and did improv. He also tried out for the football team (along with my friend’s uncle!). It was around this time that he performed stand-up with his partner Forrest. Greg had his first gig with Forrest Brakeman at the Holy City Zoo in 1982. They were called Proops and Brakeman. Later Greg joined an improv group called Faultline along with Whose Line performer, Mike McShane.

Greg first appeared on Whose Line is it Anyway? In 1989 in the UK. Greg soon did his first Endiburgh Festival in 1993. He has been back to attend it 5 years and still counting. Greg has toured the UK 4 times in his life.

Greg has hosted several TV shows including Space Cadet and VS. He has done voiceovers for movies including "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace". He has also guest stared in shows including "Third Rock from the Sun" and "Win Ben Steins Money". Greg now has his own dating show called "Rendez-View". That can be seen Monday thru Friday on one of your local T.V. Stations. He of course is also a fourth seater on the U.S. version of Whose Line.

Greg was married around 1992 to a woman named Jennifer, whom he says he doesn't deserve. Greg, surprisingly, has no kids. Greg now spends his time in LA and London.
