Below is the church at Shelton. It had the quality that Norfolk churches have in abundance: tranquility. These churches are my favourites, as I always seek God in churches, and indeed combine my love of churches with my love of God, so that to my mind I have the best of both worlds. Inside the church is a treasure trove too, especially for lovers of medieval glass.
And here is the famous East Window of Shelton, donated by the wealthy Shelton family, who in later days allegedly hid the young toddler princess Elizabeth in the tower of Shelton church until the fuss over Anne Boleyn had calmed down (and Ms Boleyn is buried in Salle cemetery, some say.
