SUSANNE BARTSCH HALLOWEEN 2006

The theme for Susanne Bartsch’s Halloween Ball at Avalon (the old Limelight} this year was Our Church. Host Kenny Kenny, Amanda Lepore and others sported Voodoo, Tribal & Religious looks with a macabre twist. An elaborate set designed by former club kid Dezi Monster with a neon cross and built in vignettes served as a platform for individual hosts to perform. Kim Aviance’s moth-like cocoon and live gypsy moth’ flew up into the rafters of the hundred year old church that was once the home of 90’s clubkid’s Oneoff Disco 2000. Thousands turned up for this one of a kind event. Unfortunately shortly after 1am the police arrived and stopped entry for the hundreds of people still waiting outside to get in. Susanne was harassed by the police and forced to shut down the party by 2AM.  She was devastated and found out later that week her weekly party Happy Valley also was shut down.
