We believe there is only one true faith, that faith according to: Hebrews 11:1-3 "Now" faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. We believe faith in God, begins in complete surrender, to God through the name of Jesus Christ. love for God first in all and areas of life. Obedience to the covenant of God is evidence that faith is in operation in a persons life. We believe in one God-Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things. As the Godhead- Our God is one, but manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal (Phil. 2:6). God the Father is greater than all; the sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter (John 1:14, John14:28, 16:28). The Son is the Word (made flesh), the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1, 1:14, 1:18). The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal (John 15:26). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God,- He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary (Matthew 1:23), was crucified, died, was buried, was resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man. We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.- The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept all scripture as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (2 Timothy. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter. 1:21). We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the same Messiah as prophesied Isaiah 53. he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. We also believe that everything that Jesus suffered was in exchange for the suffering of mankind. -Jesus was without spot or blemish and so therefore he the Lamb of God. He was sacrificed to blot out the enmity the between Man and God because of sin. 1Peter 1:19 The precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. John 1:29 "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" We believe that Jesus took out on him every curse- Therefore anyone who is willing to become subject to him will be free from any curse. Galatians 3:13 "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree." We believe man in the fall of mankind thorugh sin and his redemption - Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God; but, through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one." Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:14; 1 John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Ephesians. 2:8). (John 17: 1-5)These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. We believe man through faith has been made equal with Christ in God’s love John 17:22 Mankind is separated from God by sin. But God in his mercy, is not satisfied to only forgive sin but to reserve all of his power and love to all that believe in the word as testified by the Apostles Moses and the prophets. God has called us to power According to: (Luke 10:18-20) "And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Jesus prayed in his Covenant with God for us to be equal in glory in honor and power to Christ in God’s love, that God is glorified has testimony to all the world of its true nature and mercy, according to (John 17:20-26) verse20 "I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am, to behold my glory which thou hast given me in thy love for me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world has not known thee, but I have known thee; and these know that thou hast sent me. 26 I made known to them thy name, and I will make it known, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them." Jesus then paid for this New Covenant in His own Blood! We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved- The Christian's hope-the soon-coming, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The angels said to Jesus' disciples, "This same Jesus shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." His coming is imminent. When He comes, "...the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air..." (Acts 1:11; 1Thess. 4:16-17). Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years (Revelations 20:6). We believe in the eternal punishment of the lost. Hell and eternal retribution- The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting," used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the presence of God (Hebrews. 9:27; Revelations. 19:20, Revelations 21:26-28, Revelations 20:14-15). (John 3:17-21)For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. We believe in personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ- Eternal life and the new birth- Man's first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life (2 Cor. 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-7, 1 John 1:8-10). Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit, and in personal holiness, purity of heart and life- SANCTIFICATION - The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ's return (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians. 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians. 3:18; Phil. 3:12-14; 1 Corinthians. 1:30, 1 John 1:9). We believe in divine healing, through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ- Healing is included in God's plan for redemption. Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today (Mark 16:18; Acts 10:38; James 5:14-15; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah. 53:4-5 John 14:12-13). We believe in water Baptism- Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36-39). The following recommendation regarding the water baptismal formula is adopted; to wit: "On the confession of your faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, Amen." We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as distinct from the New Birth- In speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4). The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord, Jesus Christ, to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the New Birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38-39, 19:1-7). We believe in the gifts of the Spirit, and the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. ( Gal 5:22- 25 ) We believe that all of these gifts are available to all believers. (1 John 1:8-10 ) "In order that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." |
