Researching William Henry HILTON and his descendants.
William Henry HILTON was born Pilkington (near Radcliffe, Manchester, Lancashire), England on 17 May 1850, father William HILTON and mother Nancy CHARNLEY. In 1872 he emigrated to Boston, USA, possibly with other members of his family, meeting and marrying a Mary ARMOUR 22 May 1874. A daughter Nancy Elizabeth was born 20 December 1874 (not quite 9 months!) and some point after that it is probable that he returned to England for short while with his wife and daughter. In 1879 he returned to America, this time apparently to stay. He appears to have lived most of his life in Fall River, Massachusetts, applying for, and gaining, US Citizenship 2 August 1899. He died 1 April 1931.
