My Latest CD: HOT ROD GUITAR: If you have one of my CD's, click here for the song titles. Hot Rod Guitar Titles

SAMPLES OF MY WORK: The following samples are broken into less than 60 second .wav clips or are linked to streaming or downloadable MP3.

Country: What you hear when first entering the website is the solo to Liza Jane, some Vince Gil blazing country guitar. I recorded myself on one side and Vince on the other side. If you are listening on a stereo audio system with your computer, you can compare left and right sides and observe the detail I put into learning a solo. I am playing the licks right along with Vince Gil. (stereo).
Liza Jane guitar solo

Rock: This song was performed entirely by myself. I programmed in the backing chord progressions, drums, and bass into a MIDI sequencer. Then I mixed in my lead guitar and my lead vocal track (stereo).
Eagles, Life in the Fast Lane, part 1 (intro with vocals)
Eagles, Life in the Fast Lane, part 2 (short first guitar solo)
Eagles, Life in the Fast Lane, part 3 (second guitar solo)
Eagles, Life in the Fast Lane, part 5 (final guitar solo)

Rhythm and Blues: This is another "I am the whole band" sample. This song demonstrates my blues guitar work, attention to detail (playing licks and matching the tone of SRV), vocals, and sequencer programming (stereo).
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, Texas Flood (intro)

Country, southern rock, and blues with female vocalist:
Off the Cuff Band

Texas Blues: This is a band I gig with around southeast Houston, Clear Lake, and Galveston.
Lucky Boyd and the Tollbooth Violators

Country and Rockabilly: Here is a north Houston band I play with.
Buck Johnson and the Cowbilly Band

Fusion jazz: Two guys and a sophisticated drum machine is the band here. Yeah, it sounds like we're a bigger band. We've got you fooled. The first link is a website where you can stream MP3 files and the following links are .wav samples. (stereo).
Donnelly and Mathis
fluty Here I use a VG8 for a flute sound.
peanuts This cut will remind you of a Charlie Brown special. I use a GR300 patch from a GR1 digital guitar synthesizer.
cool1 cool2 cool3cool4cool5 Here are five sections of a cool groove my buddy Ken and I improvised on. It gets funked up and smells acid-jazzy.

Jazz covers and originals: A trio with myself on guitar and synthesizer "Dew Point."(stereo).
Dewpoint

Alternative Rock (Instrumental): These are excerts from Heard Hallucination. My talented friends Steve (drums), Shawn (rhythm guitar), and Ken (keyboards) help to create some interesting stuff.
Heard Hallucination, part 1 Shawn plays a distant distortion riff while I modify it into harmonies and contrary motion.
Heard Hallucination, part 2 Here I make a transition from the contrary motion idea into a more dominant guitar solo.
Heard Hallucination, part 3 In this section I bring the dominant guitar solo to a climax.
Heard Hallucination, part 4 Here I use my guitar synthesizer to play bass lines for Ken to solo and work with.
Heard Hallucination, part 5 Overlaping part 3 to show the end of the solo after it climaxes, I morph into a breath sound.
Heard Hallucination, part 7 I am on bass again here, and Ken does some cool keyboard work over it.
Heard Hallucination, part 8 The band slows to an eiry section with ghost effects, and a great drum lead in by Steve.
Heard Hallucination, part 9 Here I continue the mood of the previous section soloing over colorful chords by Ken.
Heard Hallucination, part 10 I start with a synth-sax, morph to swelling 13th chords, and end with a wet bass.
