Based on the mathematics developed by Heesch and Kienzle in 1963,
I wrote a program to create all possible interlocking shapes with the computer.
Published in "Computer Graphics and Image Processing" July 1979, pp.333-353.
Applications of such a program was demonstrated in "Computer Aided Design",
January 1980, pp. 29-34.
This example was done by a college student in 1978. The computer automation will
enforce the tessellation rules.
