This page lists your assignments for March 14 through March 18.  The Web sites will provide you with valuable information for each assignment.

*      Monday: Practice with different ways to convert weight and amounts.

            

 

 

  • Read pp. 200-205 in your textbook.  Be prepared to discuss the chapter readings and the following Web sites in class next Monday and Tuesday:

o       Water Puzzle

o       The Three Jugs Problem

  • Based upon classroom discussions and chapter readings, write five sentences on how easy it is to use this site after learning about differences of weight.  The paper is due on Wednesday.

*      Wednesday: Practice with learning coin values and converting different amounts of money.

  • Read pp. 206-210 in your textbook.  Be prepared to discuss the chapter readings and the following Web sites in class on Wednesday and Thursday:

o       Coin Names and Values

o       Converting Nickels, Dimes and Quarters to Pennies

  • Write 5 examples of ways to convert money, weight, or whatever you choose.  Be sure to include units and how equal one is to the other.  This activity is due on Friday.

*      Friday: Practicing with using a pattern to find a missing number.

  • Be prepared to discuss the following Web sites in class on Friday:
  • Use these 2 activities to be familiar and comfortable with using numbers in a certain pattern to find the missing number.  Make up 10 missing number sequences on your own, using numbers 0 to 100.  This activity is due on Monday. 
  • You will be graded based on your performance on the given assignments next week.  The rubric can be found on the assessment page.
