Figure: I tried to utilize a free figure I got from Moore Action Collectibles: Lady Death. I guess you could say her features were...cartoony to say it nicely. Therefore, much sanding and slicing was done to muscles and chest. I removed the arms, and sculpted a new, more realistic chest, top, underwear, and strappy boots. Seperately, I sculpted some jewelry on a pair of Cordy arms from the Angel Series (Also MAC). I then made a mold and cast of a Short Hair Cordy face from the same series, and sculpted new hair and ears. The crown was made by bending a wire around some sculpting tools. The same technique was used for the necklace. She was painted with Craft Acrylics, and I used a matte varnish to keep her protected.
Accesories/Base: A skirt was made by sewing a wire to one side of a piece of cloth, so it can be removed and replaced easily. A castle stone base was made from a basic Buffy base from the first series (MAC).
Retrospect: It was my first commision piece: I think the decision to do this was great. I would never have chosen to make her in this outfit, but I was allowed to experiment with different techniques. It was the first time I started doing my basic series of steps: Plan, Prep, Sculpt, Paint, Varnish, and Add Extras. (I'll be doing a write-up on this soon if I haven't already!). Though I'm not too happy with the face or skirt, I'm pleased with the sculpting and how my imagination let me create something fun.
