Some Memorable Moments
Here are some of the images that I pulled out of my album. These may better signify myself, my families and some of my special friends.
Me with my dearest friend, partner and wife, Azusa! Azusa and I are growing vegitables in our garden behind our residence in Tokyo. Azusa's dad gave us some bitter-cucumber (gohya) seedlings. In a geo-political territory called Japan, Gohya are today considered to be an Okinawan speciality. The northern climate of Tokyo is rather harsh for gohya, however. If succesfully harvested, gohya can definitely become a vital source of our energy!!
Azusa with a local Vietnamese woman trying to sell fruits in her baskets. We occasionally visit Vietneam to learn about local customs and lifestyles.
Azusa with her three Okinawan buddies. They are all happy and lively women. With respect to the Okinawan matriarchy, I try to keep myself as humble as I can before these respected "inaguhs."
One of my favorite studies includes visits to local southeast-Asian markets where I observe people lively interacting with each other - socially, economically and symbolically.
I am here investigating a pile of gingers found in a Vietnamese market. Local markets such as this one is my favorite hangout - as these places teach me a whole lot about life itself!
Ho Chi Minh, let alone Che Guevara, is one of my lifetime idols. I try to be as faithful as I can to the type of humanitarian spirit that these and others like Pierre Bourdieu, Fidel Castro, Noam Chomsky, Albert Einstein, Karl Marx, Augusto Sandino, Edward Said, Jean P. Sartre, Albert Schweitzer, and Emiliano Zapata had at the core of their minds and thoughts!
My most-favored tree is "gajumaru" - a typical type found throughout southeast Asia. Being between or near these trees invokes peace of mind. This is a definite place of meditation for me!
