Memorable Moments - Part 2
This is a shot from the shopping street of Shin-Imamiya, downtown Osaka. This is the place I consider to be one of the main sources of my identity. In spite of what many Japanese from elsewhere may think and say about this area on the basis of their rather pretenciously high-classed perspectives, people are mostly very kind and friendly around here. If you are truly a downtown Osakan, one of the things you love to do gotta be the local pinball called "smart ball" (well, you don't really have to be that smart to play it, by the way). I am here playing this game alongside my dear sister-friend Makiko.
Vietnamese Pho is my most-beloved food. I sure can live on it!!
"Sanshin" - a three-stringed banjo-like instrument - is widely found throughout central- and east Asia, having Indian Sitar as its likely origin. This is an Okinawan version, which I play on daily basis as a part of constructing my Ryukuan identity. Playing sanshin well is one of the skills I will have to master as a part of my family-in-law requirements. I am on my way!
...And my most favorite actor is Toshi Mifune, who also seems to be one of my distant relatives. He is turly a great actor who could put his total being into acting - to the extent that no other actors in my view could ever even imagine!
Ask me about my most favorite movie, and I will, at least currently, reply "Matrix" without any hesitation! I consider this to be one of the most significant contemporary myths that teaches us about one of the most deeply-rooted problems that contemporary humans face and what can be done about it.
...naki nasai, warai nasai, itsu-itsu made mo itsu-itsu made mo hana o sakasoh yo!!!
Smile that revolves around positive thinking is the single most-important thing I and my wife cherish in our lives. However problematic and stressful our contemporary lifeworld may turn out to be, we would like to refer to this powerful attitude as a way of overcoming these problems and stresses.
