| I spent alot of time building web sites just for the fun of it. I spread myself so thin I was giving no information at all. So I decided to find one real subject to put on line. I love my painting and making things, I like to dabble in poetry and I can carry a tune if I have to. There is one love in my life that goes above the rest, with the exception of my children, and that is my herbs. I grew up knowing about herbs coming from a Welsh & Indian background. My mother always had herbs and could cure this or that with the right "weed". Her large gardens lined with herbs was just a part of life. Dad just "knew" things I couldn't find any where else. I started growing herbs long ago, as I explored deeper into Wicca, and my Father & Mother's heritage, it gave herbs a whole new meaning. The history, the lore. I hope that you enjoy some of what I have learned , it's important to point out I have no formal training in herbs. Most of what I know I learned from generations of family knowledge and reading and a little of hit and miss growing them. Inside you will find photo's of herbs, to better help you indenttify them. Most of these are in my own garden. This site is still growing. My aim to have the largest Magical herb site on line!!! If there is an herb you would like featured here please let me know. Vestas |

Llewellyns Organic Gardening Almanac, Medicine Of the Earth by Susanne Fischer-Rizzi, ,A Modern Herbal in 2 Volumes, Mrs M Grieve, A Victorian Grimoire by Patricia Telesco, Culpepers Complete Herbal & English Physician (Oringinal Print date 1817, available on amazon.com, and other book stores) Master Book of Herbalism by Paul Beyerl Natural Magic by John Michael Greer, 10,000 Garden Questions answered by 15 experts editor F.F. Rockwell 1946, Dr. Chases Recipes for Every Body. 1878 A.W. Chase M.D. You can find this old book on E-bay Cheap! My mother left me Vol.'s 1& 3 I can't find 2. This book can be informative and sometimes outragous! And if you have an interest, there are many good sites on line. If I had a wish for books. it would be to see more hard backs from Llewllyn. I have gone through 3 of Scott Cunninhams herb books!! |
