The cobwebs float upon the wind
Reflecting silver from the moon.
The time is right, the clouds are light,
The fairies will come soon.
The wisps of wind blows through the glade
Stirring leaves up off the ground.
They float, they wait, then hesitate,
Till the fairies come around.
Not a whisper nor a sound
Can be heard upon the night,
Except the sound upon the ground
Of glow-worms lighting lights.
Then, the toadstools pop their heads
To form a perfect arc,
As a fire-fly come flying by,
To shed light upon the dark.
Then the tiny worms they leave their holes
And gather in a ring,
The beetles come, with a drum, drum, drum,
To hear the fairies sing.
The butterflies and moths come too
And flutter on the breeze
And the little birds with chirping words
Nestle in the trees.
Every things gone quiet,
Every thing is still,
There's not a breeze to stir the leaves,
As they wait in awe and thrill.
"It's nearly Time", They whisper,
As they hear the tic and toc
Of the rhyming chime as the hands they climb,
Upon the forest clock.
Twelve o'clock, midnight, "Hush!
They're coming I can hear,"
The softest beat of marching feet
Are coming 'o' so near.
The fairy queen she leads them,
As they march into the arc,
And with a dash and a sudden flash,
A fire-fly lit the dark.
The prince of elves has come this night
To take a fairy wife,
And he's promised to, with heart so true,
To love her with his life.
Then, the fairy queen she waves her wand
Star dust, falls from out the sky,
As all the night, turns sparkling bright
While a moonbeam shines on high.
And lanterns hang by spider webs
That stretch from here to there,
And they, wave in the breeze with magic ease
Shining brightly everywhere.
There's fairy cake and fairy bread
And catnip tea of course,
And lots of chairs and tables there
With condiments and sauce.
And standing tall above them all,
Was the wedding cake to see,
With icing white that sparkled bright
With a bumble from a bee.
And a fairy coach with tiny mice,
To take the bride and groom
To a star not very far,
For their honeymoon.
The fairy band begins to play
Its magic fills the air,
With silken gowns and not a frown,
They dance without a care.
Then! A bluebell trumpeter
And the fairy queen says, Now
It's time for you, to promise to,
And make your wedding vow.
The queen she spoke with wisdom,
Of happiness and fun
When filled souls, become a whole,
And two become as one.
With vows of love bestowed upon
The fairy bride and groom
With loving glance they danced and danced,
Around that wedding room.
But! The moon was slowly fading
Turning night to day,
And with the sun the fairies run
And their magic fades away.
