Gilles Lambert

Lambert, Vrouvaikis, Plescio, and Traynor were  convicted of  attempting to break Hardy out of prison about a year later. Lambert was reportedly sentenced to three months in prison  and one year of probation.

On May 16, 1997, in the middle of Canada's most brutal gang war ever, police arrested Lambert and ten others on allegations of conspiring to murder Hells Angels leader  Maurice "Mom" Boucher. Arrested  with  Lambert  was  reportedly  Yvon  Roy, Tony  Jalbert, Martin  Simard, Serge  Boutin, Martin Pellerin, Bruno Lévesque, Jean-René Dufresne, Richard Lariviere, René Pelletier, and Hubert Lanteigne.

Pascal Couture, described as one of Lambert's bodyguards, was arrested with Jose Lapierre and Christian Soucy in Edmonton, Alberta in early  May 1998, allegedly in possession of  a  kilogram of cocaine.

That same month, Lambert, Giovanni Cazzetta, Giovanni's sister  Maria, and  Suzanne Poudrier, Renaud Jomphe's widow, were charged with a total of 28 counts of possessing  property  obtained through illegal activities between January 19, 1989 and May 22, 1997.

After  a trial that  lasted  nearly five months, a jury took 17 days before announcing their verdict on  June 17, 1999. Lambert  was  found  guilty  on  six counts, Giovanni Cazzetta on  nine  counts, Maria Cazzetta on two counts, and Suzanne Poudrier on five counts.

On  August 12, 1999, Lambert  was  sentenced  to three years in  prison. Giovanni Cazzetta got five years, while  Maria Cazzetta  and  Suzanne Poudrier  received  one  year conditional sentences. More  than $2 million worth of  goods was  reportedly seized, including  Lambert's La Plaine  home and his 300 boxes of collector cards. The gang's clubhouse, located at 2025 Huron Street, was also seized.
Gilles Lambert, born in the mid 1950s, is  a founding  member of  the Rock Machine  biker  gang. He  has been described  as being  one of  the group's leaders  and  is  reportedly closely  associated with  the  Cazzetta brothers.

Late  on  the  night  of  August  26,  1996,  guards  at  the  Donnaona penitentiary noticed that Roger Hardy, a reputed Rock Machine associate and explosives expert, was missing from his cell. Authorities immediately began searching the surroundings and found Hardy hiding outside.

Police  then  stopped  two  vans  who were  allegedly circulating  the prison. Inside was Lambert, and  Andreas Vrouvaikis, Tony Plescio, and Sean Traynor. The  four  Rock  Machine  members  were  placed  under arrest.
