The Hells Angels Quebec City Chapter was formed on May 26, 1988. The gang consisted of members of two old biker clubs, the Vikings, based on the south shore of Quebec City, and the Iron Coffins, based in La Pocatiere.
From their clubhouse in Saint-Nicolas, the Hells Angels took over much of the drug trafficking and prostitution in and around Quebec City. The club's main competition has been the Bandidos Quebec City Chapter, formerly part of the Rock Machine, who have been engaged in a violent turf war for nearly a decade.
