Hells Angels Sherbrooke Chapter
The gang that is now known  as the Hells Angels Sherbrooke Chapter started out in the 1960s as the  Dirty Reich  and, in 1970, became the Gitans. The gang bought drugs off of  the Popeyes, who would become the Hells Angels Montreal chapter, and supplised a group of local pushers.

Sharing the  territory with the Gitans was the Atomes motoryclce  gang, led by  Réjean "Farmer" Gilbert. War between the  two gangs  broke out  in 1973 and, within twelve  months, six  men were murdered and frequent fights had taken place. An uneasy peace was reached and the groups agreed to share the area's drug market.

In 1984, the Hells Angels Montreal chapter told the Gitans that they could become a Hells chapter if they eliminated the Atomes. Within a few months, Atomes members Michel "Ballon" Fortier, Jean- Noel Roy, Ronald "Big" Sigouin, and Réjean "Farmer" Gilbert. The Atomes gang disappeared and the Gitans became an official Hells Angels chapter on December 5, 1984

From their clubhouse in Lennoxville, the organization's influence grew and, despite police efforts to shut  down  the  club, have a firm hold on the area's narcotics and prostitution markets.
