The  McSween Gang  operated in  the  south-west of  Montreal  in  the 1960s  and 70s, active  in loansharking, extortion and  armed robberies. The group was led by  Jacques McSween  and  later by Roger “Le Moineau” Létourneau.

In the 1970s, the  McSween Gang  waged  war  with  the  powerful  Dubois Clan over control of several rackets in the south-western part of the city. The gangs exchanged blows for several months, with neither side gaining a clear upper hand.

The war ended  on  February 13, 1975, the eve of  Saint Valentine’s, when four  members of  the McSween Gang were murdered and another two were seriously injured when gunmen opened fire on them in a discotheque. What was left of the McSween Gang quickly dissolved.
