Games - Trading Card Game

Everybody!! I forgot to credit HPGalleries and The Leaky Cauldron for the pictures! I am very sorry for this! These are two great sites and once again I am sorry for upsetting them!

The Trading Card Game, to be released in the third quarter of 2001, by Wizards of the Coast, makers of hits such as the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) and Magic: The Gathering are now set to bring the worlds best loved book character, Harry Potter, to life in their latest Trading Card Game. Once released, come back here for tips, secrets, and how to become the best!

Now, we have a small preview of what you can expect to see in all stores this summer.

This is a display of the Starter Decks, and the picture in the background is Hagrid on Sirius Black's flying motorcycle over Privet Drive... Already you can see the great quality and attention to details that Wizards of The Coast have.

And here is a picture of the back of the cards. Very nice looking indeed. Although many sites have pointed out that the scar is sideways. Wizards of The Coast say the American covers were wrong. Interesting...

A display for the theme decks with Harry Potter sitting in the background with the Sorting Hat. The game will see you playing a wizard, casting spells, using potions and fighting creatures.

Now, here are the theme decks, 'Hannah Abbott's Spellcaster' and 'Dean Thomas' Restrike'

The back of the cards again.

Here is some artwork from the game.

Rules

PoJo has published a presentation of the Trading Card Game at the NY Toy Fair in February: "Each player plays a Wizard at Hogwarts who can cast spells and use Magical Creatures when playing the game. Each card is fully illustrated with new art, which captures favorite characters, potions and spells, creatures, and situations from the novel. The first person to make his or her opponent's cards "disappear" wins the game."
The 'Two Player Starter Decks' will have the basic rules, a playmat and two decks a 40 cards. 'Theme Decks' include "Hannah Abbott's Spellcaster" and "Dean Thomas' Restrike". Each Theme Deck will have 61 cards, damage counters and a premium wizard card. Then there is the 'Booster Set' with a total of 118 cards. Each Booster will have eleven cards.

Thanks to Pojo.com and the official trading card site for the pics.
