Green Spicy Stuff: Condiment and Protection Spell Posted 11/01 I listen to public radio at work and my coworker listens to news radio. Between these two radio stations it seems like all I hear all day is anthrax, anthrax, anthrax. Well, I know there is very little risk of me getting anthrax, but I have fall allergies! Experiencing my fall allergy symptoms while listening to anthrax news is a little unsettling, so I whipped up a batch of “Green Spicy Stuff” and eat a little bit of it every day to make me feel better. Why does it make me feel better? Well, it's yummy. Yummy makes me feel better. Not only that, but the ingredients in “Green Spicy Stuff” are garlic, cilantro, hot peppers, cumin, and salt. Let’s take a closer look at these ingredients: The healing properties of garlic are so many that I’m not going to go into them in any detail here. I’ll mention that garlic is good for congestion and good for the immune system, thus helping my allergy symptoms. Other things it’s supposed to be good for are: digestion, smallpox, anthrax, plague, leprosy, asthma, coughs, bronchitis, heart disease, blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc. The list goes on and on. Magical properties credited to garlic are protection, exorcism, and healing. It’s also been known to repel unwanted amorous advances… “Not tonight, HHHHoney, I have a HHHHeadache.” Unfortunately, it does not work on lecherous drunks in bars. I haven’t figured out why this is, yet. I think that either their breath is so bad they don’t notice other people’s breath, or they are so desperate that they just don’t care. Cilantro is said to be good for digestion, and magically it is supposed to bring love and well-being. The essential oils in the fresh leaves are said to kill germs. Hot peppers can add power to a spell as well as to herbal remedies. They are also used in protection spells and any other spell you want to add “heat” to. Cumin is used magically for protection and exorcism. Salt is for purification and protection. So with all these powerful herbs combined, you can see why I would feel better! Banish those germs! Here’s the recipe and the spell: 1 head of garlic 1 bunch of fresh cilantro 6 to 10 hot spicy peppers (I usually go with 6 jalapenos, 1 habenero, and 1 of those little red peppers that look like jalapenos.) 1 tablespoon cumin 1 tablespoon sea salt Take the papery skin off the garlic. Yes, the whole thing, not just a clove or two. Cut the stems off the cilantro, throw the stems away. Now comes the hard part… cut the stems off the peppers, cut them open (the long way) and scoop out the seeds with a spoon into the garbage. Do not touch the seeds with your hands. Be careful not to get any juice on your hands. Wash your hands immediately. (Last time I made it I used 10 jalapenos and I left the seeds in… it came out too spicy for my taste.) Chop everything in the food processor so that it is “minced,” not pasty. Put into a bowl. As you stir in the salt and cumin say a chant and charge it up. Here’s my chant… feel free to write your own: All diseases go away In my presence you cannot stay All evil be gone as well I banish you with this spell. So now you have a bowl of green spicy magickal protection stuff. What do you do with it? I try to eat a little of it every day. I mix a spoonful of it in my bowl of chili, in my mac and cheese, on corn muffins, burritos, on bagels with cream cheese. You can mix it with any food to add flavor. It’s really good on black bean veggie burgers! My friend Nancy says it’s really good cooked in eggs. She also mixes it with melted Velveeta to make a chip dip. Heck, I’ve seen her use straight green spicy stuff as a chip dip! Personally, I think it’s a little too strong for me to do that. My boyfriend said to me once “Wait a minute… you can’t touch it with your hands, but now you want me to EAT it?” Since then he says it’s “grown on him.” I caught him putting a spoonful in his stew the other day. After eating your Green Spicy Magickal Protection Stuff performing banishings is a breeze! Simply face what you want to banish and say forcefully: “Ha Ha Ha! I banish you with my Great and Powerful Green Spicy Breath! Ha Ha Ha!” Your subject will either pass out or run away! Home Articles Sheya Shamanism LumensGate Books Links Bike Transformation |
