Eden's Crush are the American Popstars. The band is all female, like most other Popstars groups. I don't know if the band has achieved much success or not, but I hear that their first single did do fairly well, although I didn't see any evidence of that. I think I even heard that they set some record with the sales of their first single, but I don't know much about it! However, if they didn't do too well so far, then perhaps they deserve to.
The Band
The band consists of five girls; Ivette, Ana Maria, Maile, Nicole and Rosanna. Okay, I admit that I don't remember too much about them, but I'll get the information very soon! They seem to have a fair bit of talent, and most of the girls seem to have Spanish or other non-american origins, and even sing in Spanish on a couple of songs. I really have no idea what kind of impact the Popstars series had in the US, as I didn't really hear anything about it. That would indicate that it wasn't as popular as in the UK and Australia, I suppose, but I can't be sure about that! Making the Band did seem to be fairly popular, on the other hand. Anyway, Eden's Crush is apparently named after a flower, and although it's a bit of an unusual name, I think it's good! Congrats on choosing one of the best Popstars name, girls! **g**
The Music
With their first single 'Get over yourself', Eden's Crush have one of the best Popstars songs. It's catchy and cool, and just a great pop song, basically! Much the same as what Britney and people like that are doing at the moment, but Eden's Crush bring something of their own to it. Perhaps it's a bit more mature than most of the pop songs sung by teenagers lately. A bit more credible. Like, I could imagine Destiny's Child singing it, maybe, but not teenage pop singers like Mandy Moore. I am not sure if it's been released outside the US, but I believe the video has been played here in Australia during the last couple of months, but I've only seen it once or twice. I think this is the only single by Eden's Crush so far, which is unfortunate, because I think they have the potential to do well. I've heard quite a few songs from their album, and some of them are okay. There's nothing else that really stands out as being as good as the first single, though. My sister really likes one of their Spanish songs, and I have to agree that it is good. My sister refuses to listen to anything that isn't in English, so that probably tells you how good the song is! **g**
Okay, I'll give you a review of the songs I have here. 'Promise me' is a really nice song. It's slow and just a pretty good song! Maybe something Mariah Carey would sing. 'Glamorous life' isn't too good. It's sort of dance-ish, with kind of annoying lyrics & melody. This one seems like a bit of a filler track to me. 'Love this way' kind of reminds me another song, but I can't think of it right now... It's not bad at all! It's also fairly slow, and although it's not the best song I've heard, but it's still nice. Hmm...'No drama' isn't too great. It's okay, if you like this sort of man-bashing tuneless song that seems to be over-used lately! This sounds like something that Nivea would sing, I think, or maybe Destiny's Child. It's sort of R&B. 'Toda Vida' is the Spanish song I mentioned before. It's really quite nice and slow, and shows that at least some of the girls do have good voices. Well, this is a really good song, anyway, and it sounds a bit like Christina Aguilera's Spanish songs.
Erm...from the sound of the title, I don't really know if I'll like 'What's good for the goose'. Sounds pretty dodgy to me! But it's actually pretty good! Another R&B sort of song, and it's pretty catchy and sounds like it could be a hit for the girls! 'You know I can' is yet another R&B song! I guess this is their style! **g** It's pretty good! '1000 Words' sounds pretty good, too! What more can I say?! **g** This one has a pretty good tune... 'Anywhere but here' is not too bad either... All of these songs aren't bad, but don't really sound too distinctive, I guess. It's sort of hard to tell them all apart, but maybe that's only because I've only heard most of them once or twice so far! But I think Eden's Crush are quite talented, and I think they have songs that are good enough to ensure their continued success!
