Hear'say News

Kym has left the band! She has been replaced by Johnny, after the band conducted auditions for a new fifth member. Hear'say have also cancelled their tour.

Hear'say are the British Popstars. If you are a fan of them, then maybe you shouldn't read any more of this, as I have to say that they are not exactly my favourite group. But I will try to be nice. As I'm from Australia, I don't have a lot of information about overseas Popstars bands, only what I've found on the internet. And Hear'say have released their first single here. Anyway, Hear'say haven't been around for too long, but they have unsurprisingly had a lot of success in the UK already. And I think they’ve just released their second album, too. Just what we always wanted! ;) ahem.

The Band

Hear'say, another band with an 'interesting' name (ahem again!), is made up of five individuals; three girls and two guys. And let me say that Kym, Myleene, Suzanne, Danny and Noel (I think those are their names) may just be the most untalented bunch of singers I've ever seen. Actually, I just remembered about S Club 7, so I will have to think about that a bit more. And not only do they have little talent, but they are also fairly unattractive! I just can't understand why they were chosen out of a whole country full of people. I would really like to see the UK Popstars show. Maybe after seeing everyone who auditioned, I might be able to understand why these people were chosen above the rest. Kym can sing fairly well, I have to say. But the others are absolutely useless! I couldn't believe it when I saw them on Top of the Pops for the first time. I mean, I'd expect most pop groups to have as little talent as Hear'say, but not ones who were auditioned! What's the point of auditioning people if you're not going to pick people with talent? The makers of the show might as well have picked five random people off the street! Suzanne really couldn't sing to save herself, and both of the guys (especially that bald one!) have horrible voices! And they don't even let Myleene sing, so I guess that says something for her talent or lack thereof. Unfortunately Kym has just left the group, so it'll be interesting to see what effect that will have on the band! She has been replaced by a guy called Johnny.

The Music

The first single, 'Pure and simple', sounds like a bunch of drunk people sitting around a bar singing some song that they just made up. It literally drags on, and for about 3 or 4 minutes longer than I wish it would. How this became a number one UK hit would be beyond me, if I didn't know how the UK charts work. No offence to British people, but untalented, weird-looking pop singers seem to be awfully popular there. And almost every song released gets to number one, as well. Apart from these complaints, 'Pure and simple' is not anywhere near the worse song I've ever heard. I just don't particularly like it. Hear'say's second single, 'The way to your love' is actually pretty good. I don't think I've heard the third single, 'Everybody', so I can't comment on that! The band has just cancelled its tour due to poor sales, or perhaps because Kym left and Johnny joined the band.
