O-Town are not technically a 'Popstars band', in that they weren't created by an actual Popstars series. The show documenting the band's formation was called 'Making the Band', and it aired in the USA sometime early this year or last year. They are the only Popstars boyband that I know of, which is interesting. Maybe the world has had enough of boybands lately, but I think it's gotten to the stage where there are more than enough girl groups too.

The Band

I don't really know anything about O-Town. But I will find out and let you know! **g** Okay...the members are Erik, Jacob, Trevor, Dan, and Ashley. Jacob is really scary, and he has a weird hairstyle and facial hair! I found out about O-Town through Entertainment Tonight, not that I watch such great daytime TV shows as that one. **g** It seems the show they were on was quite popular in the US, and I think it was made in Florida. I wonder why a disproportionate number of American boybands come from Florida? It's one of life's unsolved mysteries...

The Music

O-Town's first single, 'Liquid Dreams' was an okay but fairly unique sort of song. It was different in that while a lot of songs talk about the ideal girl, they don't usually name the people she should look like! The lyrical content is pretty sus! And a bit too contrived for my liking (much like Bardot's A.S.A.P.) Anyway, this single was released in Australia, UK, and Europe too, as well as in the US. O-Town's second song is really good. 'All or nothing' is one of the best ballads I've heard in ages, and I think the band really deserved the success they achieved with this one. I didn't really like O-town much at first (this is what I wrote here about them: "O-Town don't really seem to be much different from your average boyband. Well, except that they are more inexperienced in the music world and probably not quite as appealing."), but after going to Europe and having the opportunity to see their show 'Making the band' on MTV, I really feel differently about them! The show is really great, the way it follows their personal and professional lives. And it enables us to see that they're just ordinary guys who face the same problems as anyone else. I really like the show! And O-town have a new single out called 'We fit together', and although it bears similarities to their first single, I actually like it… It's a good song!

Links: It's not www.otown.com! But I think http://www.o-town.com works! But it's not very good... (I mean, for one thing, would it really hurt them to make their pictures a little bit bigger, just so that we could actually see them?!)
