Poptarts are five girls who auditioned for the first Popstars band in Australia (Bardot), but didn't make it into the band. The band formed after the show ended, and they performed together for a few months afterwards, on TV shows like Good News Week, and the Logie awards. They were never a real band though, in that they didn't release any music.

The members of Poptarts are Bree, Deanne, Jodie-Joy, Leigh, and Louise. I don't think they ever intended to be a serious band. After all, they called themselves Poptarts! But I think it's good that they were willing to make fun of themselves like that, and I think that's actually not a bad Popstars band name, considering that it was not a serious one! I don't think the girls really had the potential to be a successful group, and it doesn't seem like they're together anymore. But some of the girls seemed to have a bit of talent, and so maybe we'll see more of them individually in the future. I know that Jodie-Joy is working with Daniel Jones from Savage Garden, so hopefully she'll be releasing some music, because I'd like to hear it. They mainly sang cover songs, but they did write and perform a song themselves called 'Give it to me'.
