Steps to joining #Astrophysics:
You need Java to see this applet.
1:-     Download a copy of Mirc32:

If you don't already have a copy of
mIRC, go to http://www.mirc.com and download the latest compatible version of it.  The current latest version of mIRC for Windows 9?/NT/2000 is v5.82.

2:-     Install Mirc32:

Install and launch the version of
mIRC you just downloaded.

3:-     Connecting to AustNet:

Upon opening
mIRC, the mIRC Options dialogue box should appear.  (If the About mIRC dialogue box appears, simply close it, and the mIRC Options dialogue box should then appear.)

-     In the
Full Name field, enter a name (real or fictitious).
-     In the
E-Mail Address field, enter an e-mail address (real or fictitious).
-     In the
Nick-name field, enter a nick-name you wish to be known as on AustNet. (Note:  Some Nick-names are already in use and/or registered, if told, you may have to select a different Nick-name - read below.)
-
(Optional) In the Alternative field, enter an alternative nick-name (in case the first is in use).

From here you have two options:

-     In the
IRC Servers drop-down menu, select Austnet.  Now click the Connect to IRC Server button below.

or

-     Close the
mIRC Options dialogue box.  Now (in the Edit box at the bottom of screen - where the cursor should be flashing) type:

               /server austnet.org:6667

and press
Enter.

4:-     Joining #Astrophysics:

When connected, type (in the
Edit box):
