Malice
Real Name: Unknown

Powers:
The entity known as Malice was an energy being without physical form. In energy form, Malice could only be hurt by energy of the same sort. Malice could move through solid objects and has no need to eat, breathe, or sleep. Malice was unable to affect the physical world except by possessing someone.

Malice has the ability to possess a human host and force him or her into submission. Malice's typical form of persuasion was appearing in a mirror and getting the subject to agree that life could be better if they would use evil means to gain the result. Once the victim was possessed, Malice used the host's memories and abilities as desired. Malice fed by forcing the host to perform evil actions.

History: Not much is known about the history or origin of the psychic entity known as Malice except that it served the villain Mr. Sinister and was planned to lead his team of mutant-killing villains, Marauders, in an appropriate vessel.

In its first known activity, Malice possessed the mutant, Dazzler, using her to create chaos at the nightclub Dazzler was performing at. This prompted the hero team known as the X-men to investigate Dazzler's strange behavior. In the ensuing fight, Malice also took control of X-men Rogue and Wolverine, but when the entity attempted to master Storm, the team leader's willpower proved to be the stronger of the two and drove Malice away.

When the Marauders attacked the former X-men Havok and Polaris (Lorna Dane), Polaris single-handedly and ruthlessly defeated the villain team, only to be revealed that it was actually Malice who had taken possession of Polaris, and declared herself leader of the Marauders. Malice, in Polaris' body, led the Marauders on several missions, including the failed attempt to capture Madelyne Pryor.

Later, Malice found out that it was permanently bonded with Lorna Dane's psyche, due to some part of Polaris' nature. She momentarily rebelled against Mr. Sinister for keeping the knowledge of the bonding a secret, but the disloyalty was quickly replaced by obedience when Mr. Sinister exercised some of his considerable power on Malice. About the same time, a demon invasion was occuring in New York City, and Malice/Polaris led a Marauder attack on the hero teams X-men and X-factor, but she escaped.

Malice/Polaris began to wander the Earth. Eventually, Lorna Dane was able to wrest limited control over Malice and at one point was able to call Havok and the X-men for help. While waiting for the help to arrive, Malice/Polaris was captured by hunters sent from the Antarctic paradise Savage Land. The hunters brought her to Zaladane, the current self-appointed ruler of the Savage Land. Using technology left behind by the villainous High Evolutionary, Zaladane who claimed to be Polaris' sister, absorbed all of Polaris' power. Malice appeared to be destroyed in the transfer.
