Center fielder Willie Davis launched 4 homeruns and had 8 RBI as the San
Francisco Giants destroyed the Kansas City Athletics by a score of 15 to 5 at
Municipal Stadium.

Davis enjoyed a big day at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park
in the 1st inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 2nd inning, blasted a
solo shot in the 4th inning, hit a bases-empty home run (his 15th of the
season) in the 5th inning and lined a one-base hit plating two runs in the
6th inning. San Francisco provided plenty of action in the 6th inning with 4
runs on 4 hits. The San Francisco offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the
9 innings.

The victory was credited to Dave McNally(4-14) who went 6 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Dick Farrell(11-13) suffered the loss. He got hit hard,
allowing 7 hits and 2 walks in 3 innings.

'I felt great out there today' Davis said. 'I was seeing the ball perfectly,
and I was right on it with my swing.
