Killebrew provided much of the offense. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 1st inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning, ripping a solo home run in the 5th inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 18th of the season) in the 8th inning. Chicago NL banged out 12 on the night. Donovan(7-3), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Jack Kralick(3-7) took the loss. He served up 5 gopher balls in 7 innings. 'It felt really nice to get this win,' Donovan said. 'I kind of dictated the game. It's what I get paid to do. It worked out this time.' |
