Brooklyn fans certainly got their money's worth at Ebbets Field. Babe Adams(4-3) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Boston Red Sox toppled the Brooklyn Dodgers 8 to 0. Adams had an afternoon to remember. He only walked one Brooklyn batter. What a day for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on. With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. Boston managed 16 in their victory. Dick Rudolph(2-5) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings. It took a while to pry Adams way from his teammates as they all wanted to show their appreciation and joy. Finally, however, Ed Barrow got to offer his own congratulations with a big bear hug and the comment, 'That was one of the best pitched games I have seen in all my years in baseball - Adams was masterful out there this afternoon!'
