St. Louis fans certainly got their money's worth at Robison Field. Chief
Bender(7-8) pitched a rare no-hitter as the St. Louis Cardinals toppled the
New York AL Highlanders 1 to 0.

St. Louis scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, John Titus doubled. One out later, Ed Konetchy stepped up to the
plate and he was walked intentionally. Herbie Moran then laced a base-hit
resulting in an exciting win for St. Louis and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. St. Louis had just 5 hits for the
afternoon.

Dan Griner(0-4) was hit with the loss in relief. After the game, Bender was
heard to say, 'This is something I have dreamt about since I was a little boy
- to have it come true is just amazing!'
