Bobby Bolin(3-7) thrilled the fans at Memorial Stadium as he crafted a no-hit
masterpiece against the Chicago NL Cubs. The Baltimore Orioles won by a
final score of 2 to 0.
Bolin was cheered on with every out from the 7th inning onward. The
adrenaline had to be just pumping through his veins. The atmosphere was
electric out there in Memorial Stadium tonight! He walked 2 Chicago NL
batters. The tension started to build around the 6th inning. By the 9th
inning the crowd was electrified. Bolin chalked up 11 strikeouts. Baltimore
had just 5 hits for the night.
Vern Law(6-6) was given the loss. He allowed just 2 runs and 5 hits in 8
innings. 'You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this
happening,' said Bolin, 'I don't expect it to sink in for awhile,' he said.
'I'm numb right now, I'm overwhelmed.'
