Taylor was cheered on with every out from the 7th inning onward. The adrenaline had to be just pumping through his veins. The atmosphere was electric out there in Robison Field this afternoon! He walked 2 Boston batters. What a day for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on. With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. After the 1st inning, neither team was able to score. Joe McGinnity(15-18) suffered the loss. It took a while to pry Taylor way from his teammates as they all wanted to show their appreciation and joy. Finally, however, Rene got to offer his own congratulations with a big bear hug and the comment, 'That was one of the best pitched games I have seen in all my years in baseball - Taylor was masterful out there this afternoon!'
