History was made in Cleveland as Orval Overall(18-6) thrilled the crowd by
tossing a perfect game and the Cleveland Naps defeated the Chicago White Sox
by the score of 2 to nothing.
The partisan crowd cheered every Chicago out from the 7th inning on. What a
day for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning
on. With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. Cleveland had 8
hits for the afternoon.
Charlie Smith(8-8) was the loser. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5
hits and 3 walks. 'Overall pitched one heck of a game!' Jeff said. 'He
didn't get away with any bad pitches because he just didn't throw any bad
pitches. What a performance!'
