Dear ST:

I agree with your insight knowledge about French, French is more
romantic than realistic.
You all must have read the recent news of the riots in Paris.

The current prime minister of France said: French is a kind of people
who prefer revolution to reform.
Reform is a realistic and safe correction of bad system but not so
romantic as revolution.

New Orleans is not the moral or model city in the USA. Since it was
founded by French, it was quite different from the New England
Establishment.
If you know or watched the movie called the Battle of
New Orleans, the pirate named Jean Lafitte etc., a major part of it
is true. The song "the House of Rising Sun" about "sex industry"
etc. in the Frech Qaurter are also true. So my experience in New
Orleans and Marid Gras is that those pictures are true, but in fact
the "exposure" is much more explicit and wild. You have to be in the
French Qaurter on Mardi Gras Day to experience it. You may not like
it, but it is an experience. During my younger days, I spent the
whole day, Marid Gras day, in the Quarter and it was an eye-opening
deal.

So do come by and experience the true spirit of the Mardi Gras in
the Big Easy.
