Black Light Tomatoes

Here is an idea that has been kicking around in my brain for some time now and I would like to throw it out to the public for some one to try. The idea is to plant a tomato plant in a large pot with a black light or grow light standing up in the middle with a trelace of some sort around the ultra violet or black light as pictured on the left. A small variety like Burpe's Fourth of July Tomatoe would probably be ideal. It seems to me that the tomatoe's leaves would grow in towards the UV light. In the out doors the tomatoes like to hide under the leaves from the sunlight so the sun does not burn the fruit leaving a large ugly white spot. The tomato fruits should ideally grow away from the black light toward the outside where they should be easy to harvest. You may be able to capitalize on this method of growing indoor tomatoes by growing them till the tomatoes begin to rippen and then placing the planter for sale in a grocery store with ruby red ripe on the vine tomatoes.  People would love to have a tomato plant right in their home producing copious amounts of flavorful vine ripened tomatoes that they could pick any time to cook with, make a salad or just snack on. If you have ever eaten a tomato right out of the garden then you know there is no comparison with store bought tomatoes. Nothing even comes close for rich flavor and juicy freshness.
