Xena a mighty princess forged in the heat of battle, her journey for redemption has lead her into a village where they're all being huddled together, getting ready to be whipped. When Xena sees this she attacks the men and saves the village people, also meeting a young naive little girl who wants to travel the world, place names, study maps, and wants so much to be like Xena. Gabrielle enters Xena's world, a path not easily taken-for there are many mis-adventures when traveling with the warrior princess.
Xena's dark evil past has brought about many surprises, one of which was when she was called upon to repay a debt to her spiritual mentor Lao Ma, to make the green dragon small again. Her past has caught up with her before, when her son, Solan is filled with hatred for her-when he thinks that it was her who killed his mother, only to find out that Xena is his mother right before he is killed by Gabrielle's evil daughter, Hope. In an effort to mend this rift between Xena and Gabrielle, Solan brings the two to the land of Illusia, where they learn the truth and forgive eachother.
Being the most important person in her life, Gabrielle struggles with the fact that her daughter has come back out of the shadows to be reborn and bring the evil one GoD into the world. When Gabrielle learns that if Xena kills Hope then she will die, Gabrielle sacrifices herself in order to save the world and to save the life of her best-friend. After the loss of Gabrielle, Xena goes in search of her in the land of the dead only to find out that the Amazon tribe she once betrayed in her past evil days, has been trapped in the land of the dead-not able to pass on into eternity. Continuing the struggle for redemption she has to put off bringing Gabrielle back from the dead to restore the Amazons, by killing Alti. After doing so she learns that Gabrielle is still alive and heads towards the village Poteidaia. Reunited with Gabrielle-after a killing spree between Hope and her child, the Destroyer, Gabrielle and Xena continue on with their journeys.
After all they've been through there's still more doom lying in their future, Alti being so kind as to share a vision of Xena and Gabrielle being crucified by Romans, Xena fears for the life of her friend. Xena does everything in her power to prevent this vision from coming true but it's all in vain, Callisto comes back from the dead and intervenes, setting forth-motions to bring their death. Gabrielle and Xena are crucified by Caeser, and are now dead.
Now in Heaven, Xena and Gabrielle are carried up to Heaven by their guardian angels, Lief and Laura, when Callisto comes out from Hell and takes Gabrielle with her. Xena so eager to plunge into the depths of Hell is stopped by Michael-and tells her that if she goes into Hell voluntarily then her soul will be lost forever. Xena then agrees to do it Michael's way and they all head down there with the idea of removing Gabrielle from Hell and purifying her, all this works except that Xena gives up her "light: and saves Callisto's soul and she is ow stuck in Hell and Callisto is restored into Heaven. Gabrielle-not happy that Callisto gets to spend eternity in bliss, while Xena is stuck in Hell, mean while Xena has planned a war against Heaven, to corrupt it and bring Hell on Heaven. She organizes a bunch of fellow demons and they attack Heaven, Xena grabs Gabrielle and has plunged into Hell, while Eli is on earth-struggling with the fact that he was too blind to see that the way of love was not for Gabrielle, and what good were his powers if he couldn't even save the two. he then places his hands on Xena and Gabrielle's bodies-after Amarice, and Joxer helped bring their bodies down from the crucifix.
Xena and Gabrielle are plummeting towards the gates of Hell when they vanish, Michael distraught of losing two innocents, Eli has brought the two back to life with the help of Angel Callisto-Xena and Gabrielle wake up-Michael and Callisto stand behind all of them filled with hope and bliss.
Eli surprised with what he's done, Joxer and Amarice look on in astonishment, while Xena and Gabrielle recover.
In future months Xena is mysteriously pregnant, only knowing that she'll love it no matter what. Later on she gives birth to her-after Hercules has had to kill his father to protect Xena and her unborn child, Eve bringing forth the twilght of the GodS, is a target for all of OlympuS. Xena doing everything in her power to save Eve's life concocts an ingenious plan, faking their own deaths, but Ares steps in and thinks that Xena and Gabrielle are dead and places them both in icey tombs.
Joxer-in on the plan, has no way of retrieving them, so for twenty-five years they both lay in their icy tombs awakening only to find out Eve doesn't exist but Livia, champion of Rome does exist. Eventually Livia realizes that she is Eve after she's been shown the "light" and is transformed.
Before Eve was transformed she killed Joxer, and Virgil-his son was not too happy with her. Eve ashamed for all the evil things she's done in her past is baptized, and while she's baptized a light shines on her and Xena and Xena now has the power to kill GodS. As long as Eve lives Xena will have this power, to protect Eve from harm.
The OlympianS still concerned with the TwilighT, wage war on Xena, Gabrielle, and Eve. The twilight has come to be and the OlympianS are no more, except for Ares and Aphrodite. Ares who spared his God-hooD to save the lives of Gabrielle and Eve, is now mortal.
After all this and all their battles Xena and Gabrielle go on their final battle grounds. When they are summoned by a long lost spiritual soulmate, Xena and Gabrielle heads for the land of Jappa. Upon their arrival the city of Higuchi is on fire and Xena and Gabrielle put it out, after doing amazing somersaults and high flying air tricks, they learn that Xena saving the city still does not make up for the forty thousand souls she doomed to Yodoshi.
Xena has to make her final ammends for this horrific wrong she caused, and she learns that the only way Yodoshi can be killed is if another ghost kills him, Xena being Xena battles thousands of samurai warriors and then lets herself be killed to become a ghost, she meets up with Akemi and then she tells Gabrielle the plan, that by taking her ahses to a sacred mountain spring that'll bring her back to life, after she's killed Yodoshi. Xena, now a ghost battles the evil Yodoshi and kills him- after a greusome battle, Gabrielle returns to Xena and gets ready to poor the ashes into the miracle fountain when Xena stops her and tells her that the only way for all those souls to be released is if she stays dead. Gabrielle distraught with grief is comforted by Xena, and Gabrielle heads for Africa, "I hear they're looking for a girl with a Chakram."
Xena's quest for redemption has finally ended, and the new journeys of Gabrielle, Warrior Princess, shall continue.... |
