About the author... |
Old enough to remember Eisenhower and life before microwaves, computers, cellphones and color tv, I am a Florida native from Jacksonville. Life is a journey and we are all travelers. I spent some time in Interlachen and Fort Lauderdale, Florida before moving to Nashville, Tennessee and Greensboro, North Carolina. After 25 years, I returned home to start my life all over again. I currently reside in Saint Augustine, Florida with my wife and five cats.
In the course of the last 35 years, I have worked nearly everywhere, from construction sites to executive suites. I've burned steel and put together half-million dollar business deals. But life is fickle so at this moment, I'm working for a major cable company handling escalated customer service issues for our corporate office. I also wrote for an online newspaper called Examiner.com.
I love to travel and have been lucky enough to see places like San Francisco and Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, and Washington, D.C. But it's the southern US that will always be my favorite place to roam. From Mammoth Cave, Kentucky to Mount Mitchell, North Carolina, I would spend my life outdoors if I could.
An amateur musician and photographer, I've played solo gigs in bars and clubs, had a couple of songs published as well as a few photographs, but these days I'd rather sing with friends than to strangers. I take pictures for the memories, not the money.
For what it's worth, I'm diabetic, have a fear of drowning and the Death Clock says I will die on Monday, November 17, 2014. I will be 62 years old. But as I said, life is a journey and this is not yet the end of the road.
