Only one man would dare give me the raspberry!!

No, my computer isn't jammed with raspberries, it's jammed full of Spaceballs news.

4-01-09

Channel G4 finally aired Spaceballs: the Animated Series and it was, in my opinion, a huge disappointment. A DVD with a collection of the episode is supposed to be released in June 2009.

Make sure you check out the Spaceballs:SE DVD

The DVD has several new special features, although it looks like commentary is the same as the former release.

  • Spaceballs: The Documentary
  • John Candy: Comic Spirit featurette
  • In Conversation: Mel Brooks & Thomas Meehan featurette
  • Storyboards to film featurette
  • Spacequotes
  • Behind-the-scenes photographs
  • Spaceballs: The Costume Gallery
  • Spaceballs: The Art Gallery
  • Theatrical trailers

A report on AintItCoolNews referencing a Playbill Q&A says Brooks let it drop that he is in fact writing a Spaceballs Sequel.  Still a rumor as of Fall 2006. Click here to view the article.

Here are a couple of pics of a great set of lobby cards seen on Ebay.

Spaceballs won a 2002 Mutie Award.. check it out

Even Homer Simpson thinks Spaceballs is better than the Police Academy Film. Click here to listen.

Several Spaceballs related anecdotes can be found here

Found an old transcript of Joe Bob Briggs' intros and outtros when he watched Spaceballs on TNT. Pretty funny stuff.

The Spaceballs theme song - We're the Spaceballs -  is back on the site...click on Song in the left column or click here.

Spaceball City: Let's Gooooooo

Click Me!!!!

May the Farce Be With You. Produced and directed by Mel Brooks, from a screenplay written by Brooks, Thomas Meehan and Ronny Graham. Spaceballs sets its comedy sights on a really BIG target: Space!   'What's bigger than space,' demands Brooks.  'Ask anyone - George Lucas, Carl Sagan, Mr. Spock - they'll tell you the same thing, Space is bigger than all outdoors!'                                                     And from Star Wars to Star Trek, Spaceballs lampoons some of Hollywood's biggest space films. 'You only spoof the thing you love,' laughs Brooks.
