There are basically 18 disciplines to learn in Nin-po Taijutsu training. They range from unarmed and armed combat tactics, military strategy, geography, jungle trekking, mountain hiking, fishing, rock climbing, poisons and medicines, traditional healing methods like acupuncture and shiatsu, internal energy development, mind control, sensing and so forth.

Training is often done outdoors and in natural environments. Locations often change each training session. Exposure to all kinds of environments is essential for the development of Nin-po skills.
