Excellence in Teaching Award

• Every semester, the E-Council solicits nominations from all undergraduate students for faculty and teaching assistants. Recipients of the awards are then recognized at a formal ceremony. This is the only award given solely by students for outstanding teaching efforts in the E-Quad.
• Yen-Kuang received this award ``for demonstrating outstanding and exemplary dedication to his role as a Teaching Assistant and for true commitment to helping students.''
• Here are some comments from the students:
  • YK ``was always on top of the material, easy to find, and quick to respond to questions.''
  • He ``actually took the time to care about how we were doing with the course work.''
  • Other adjectives include ``helpful,'' ``generous,'' ``thorough,'' and ``friendly.''
  • One student wished that he would TA more classes.
  • Lastly, ``he really has a good attitude --- he doesn't view his duty as a TA as a chore. I really think he likes us.''
