The Mountain-24 is a superior expedition tent capable of withstanding extremely high winds and heavy snow loading during multi-day climbs and summit attempts. Every feature of the Mountain-24 is designed to facilitate two-person alpine assaults undertaken in extreme conditions. The rectangular shape of the floor makes it possible to pitch the tent on narrow snow or rock ledges, and the circular doors at each end of the tent permit access to the interior even if one side is obstructed.
Like all our double-wall expedition tents, the Mountain-24 has a full coverage flysheet that extends completely to the ground to shield the underlying tent from rain, snow and wind. Packed with such additional features as lap-felled stitching throughout, factory-taped flysheet seams, and a Supercoated Floor, the Mountain-24 has achieved legendary status among mountaineers and polar explorers.
INTERNAL GUYING SYSTEM: Internal guylines, which are included with all our expedition tents, give the Mountain-24 additional stability by resisting wind deformation from the inside. Internal guylines should be run diagonally from the bottom of the tent's windward side to the top of the lee side.
FLYSHEET LADDERLOCK ADJUSTMENT: The flysheet tension on all North Face tents can be adjusted with unique easy-to-use ladderlock buckle. To tighten the flysheet, simply pull up on the strap.
ZIPPERED VESTIBULE: With the flysheet in place, one end of the Mountain-24 is covered by a roomy vestibule with a zippered entrance supported on top by a pre-bent aluminum pole. The vestibule adds a full 10 square feet of space for cooking, storing equipment or taking off boots and wet clothes before entering the tent.
