Ashuelot Rail Trail in Cheshire County New Hampshire

The Ashuelot Rail Trail is a 23 mile trail in southwestern New Hampshire which extends between Keene and the Connecticut River in Hinsdale. The western part of the trail, between Winchester and Hinsdale, is by far the prettiest part. The trail is not as interesting between Keene and Winchester. Mountain bikes are needed on this trail which is fairly rough in spots and has a soft surface in spots.

The trail between Keene and winchester is not very interesting. It is a fairly rough trail and not very scenic. The trail between Winchester and Hinsdale is much more interesting. The surface is generally better and the scenery along the fast flowing Ashuelot River is pretty.
