Youth for Socialist Action is an organization by and for students and young workers looking to make a difference. We are committed to fighting for a world where people come before profits, and that is free of exploitation, racism, sexism and homophobia. It is towards that end that we are building YSA, a dynamic organization that combines activism with revolutionary theory!
We are active in any and every working class and youth struggle, from the fight to save the life of Mumia Abu-Jamal, to the movement against capitalist globalization. Within our organization are activists from the student, labor, feminist, anti-racist, gay & lesbian, prisoner rights and anti-imperialism movements.
Membership is open to any young person in the United States who agrees with our 10 Point Program , and is willing to make a commitment in time and energy towards building our movement. Our 10 Point Program is the best introduction to what we stand for. Another good document for learning about our politics is the essay What Socialists Stand For.
Most YSAers are part of a local club. Joining a YSA club means learning how to organize, about the politics of socialism, and how to participate in and strengthen the revolutionary movement. You can find a directory of YSA clubs by clicking on our directory.
If you want to join YSA and there isn't a club in your area, we still encourage you join as an at-large member. We encourage at-large members to work with our National Office in trying to start a club. We have materials, advice and organizers that can help you get started. You can also participate as an at-large member by writing for our website and newspaper, and other activities.
