student anti-war conferences

In response to the US War on Afghanistan, students across the country are organizing to build a mass anti-war movement.

Students in Berkeley, Chicago, and Boston have called for Regional Student Anti-War Conferences for the weekend of November 10 & 11 with the goal of initiating regional anti-war activities. All three conferences have agreed on the three demands: No War, Stop Racist Scapegoating of Muslims and Arabs, and Defend Civil Liberties. The Conferences will include educational workshops and a decision-making plenum to decide coordinated actions.

Youth for Socialist Action encourages all student anti-war activists to attend the upcoming conferences. The backbone of any anti-war movement will likely rest on the students for the time being, and therefore it is important that students build anti-war committees on their campuses, participate in regional conferences, and when they come about, national conferences. We must continue to build the ranks of the anti-war movement, so that mass actions can be built to force the U.S to stop its barbaric war on the people of Afghanistan.

For more information on the conferences contact: Boston by sending an email to BCAWC@email.com; Chicago at student_antiwar_conference@hotmail.com; and Berkley at Stopthewarconference@hotmail.com
