Adjudicators Remarks
Miners Eisteddfod - 3rd October 1998
Test Piece "Partita"
Order of play 4.      Points 179.      Position 1st.

Intrada - Good start - well balanced. 1 - well done bass and entries are controlled - lost a little three bars before 2.  Nice euph and accomp. 3 - well done - but a little heavy for me - we lose a little rhythm after 4 but a good ending.
Chorale & Variations - Not together at start - fill out the bars - but balance is well done.  7 - good cornet - accomp. heavy to 8.  Poco piu mosso (a little more please) - 9 going well.  10 well percieved - f good control - timps - well done.  11 - good triplets from euph - but others do not always follow him - well done sop and euph.   13 muted parts are well balanced.  14 - good control here.  pp not together - final pause well balanced.
March - Good start - but the quavers are not always together.  15-16 goes well. Change to 17 not together but you continue to play together through 18, 19 and 20 - nice playing to end.  ffp not well done but you recover to a good ending.
General - You made a pleasing job of this not easy piece but please watch the phrasing and dynamics.
