| for the latest news from the bandroom, click here...... 25th December - The year finished with a flourish as we performed at local supermarkets and pubs. We participated in this week's St Cynog's Carol Service and on Christmas morning played at Ystradgynlais Hospital and Cwrt Enfys Residential Home. Thanks to those who came carolling this year who helped us to raise over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Care. 30th July - We played two entertainment programmes in the National Eisteddfod at Eryri. 11th March - We held our Annual Concert at the Abercrave Welfare Hall with Abercrave and Caehopkin schools. Our finale maintained the theme of our previous outing with a medley of wartime songs, ending with the children from Abercrave singing 'Pack Up Your Troubles in your Old Kit Bag' while Caehopkin's children sang 'It's A Long Way to Tipperary'! 17th February - A quintet that included four players from Ystrad Band, played for the "Their Past Your Future" exhibition launch in Merthyr Tydfil. The exhibition commemorates the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. |
