| for the latest news from the bandroom, click here...... 25th December - As usual, we were out and about playing carols in local supermarkets and pubs this month and managed a few streets in spite of the cold weather. We also took part in the St. Cynog'scarol service on 21st December. 2nd December - The Band went upmarket as we entertained at a £25 a head fundraiser for Morriston Hospital at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. There was a lot of waiting around before we eventually got to perform but it was worth it in the end as our musical offering was very warmly received. 3rd November - We're delighted to report on a hugely successful concert at the Abercrave Welfare Hall. Three schools took part: Ysgol Gymraeg Ynyscedwyn, Cynlais Primary School and Penycae Primary School. The Concert was based on music from the 60s, 70s and 80s and featured music from the Beatles, ABBA and Freddie Mercury amongst others. Thank you to all for organising, attending and participating. 16th September - The Band performed at the community hospital fete in Ystradgynlais. 9th September - We played to open the Healthy Living Centre's Fete at Penrhos. 5th August - The Band took part in the National Eisteddfod in Velindre. Our performance was hailed as being of a very high standard by the commentators as it was broadcast live on S4C. 23rd June - A trio from the Band played at a charity concert in St Peter's Church, Cockett. The concert commemorated the church's 150th anniversary and also featured performances from West End singer Steve Balsamo. |
