| One of the many canzons written by baroque composer Gabrielli. A canzon is a piece which begins with an exposition of the instruments in formal imitation, then develops into a section in which thematic segments are imployed before returning to a restatement of the opening section. This piece is a regular item in concerts performed by the Band's Quartet as it provides a contrast to some of the more modern arrangements that we play. |
